Petaluma, Calif. communications equipment maker Gluon Networks Inc. announced Monday that it has closed on $11.2 million in add-on venture financing to its now oversubscribed $50 million Series C round. The two new investors are ONSET Ventures and Vanguard Ventures. The rest of the round consists of U.S. Venture Partners, which led the round, New Enterprise Associates and JP Morgan Partners. It will use the funds to roll out the first release of its converged local exchange product and to add to its sales and customer support personnel. Part of this funding will also be used to structure the company for volume production. The company develops and manufactures next-generation converged switching and access systems for local telecommunications service providers. Business Wire. --Tyson Freeman www.TheDeal.com
