A sustained effort at helping customers boost their linage, profits and product protection has left Jamil Packaging Corp. growing in the midst of an economic down-turn that has cut deeply into many other corrugated box companies' business.
Jamil, started 35 years ago and bought by David and MaryEllen Diroll in 1994, is a leader in an industry that has long been a leader in environmentally friendly practices.
"We're one of the greenest industries out there," says David Diroll Jr, the Drolls' son and Jamil's general manager. "All of our products come from renewable resources.
"More and more corrugated is being recycled to make new corrugated," he says, adding that Jamil has saved a half-million trees since 2002 just on all-recycled products. "We as an industry are planting more trees every year than we are taking down to make product."
