Steve Graham is connecting with U.S. telecommunications giant AT&T, taking on the position of director of national marketing communications in March. Graham, who has left the presidency of Toronto agency Lowe SMS, will be responsible for all national consumer advertising, direct marketing and media for the New Jersey-based AT&T, with a budget estimated at US$600 million-plus. George Burnett, AT&T's vice-president, brand management and advertising, says Graham was hired, after a six-month search, because he has the "tremendous range of skills" the company is looking for, including multicultural and English-language advertising and marketing experience, with both agencies and clients. Graham, who began his marketing career with Toronto-based Procter & Gamble Inc. in 1979, moved on to positions at Coca-Cola Ltd. and CMA Management Consultants, both of Toronto, before joining Lowe in 1989.
