GMAC Commercial Mortgage has added former Goldman Sachs executive Meg Blakey to its mezzanine-loan unit. Blakey will originate high-yield loans for the New York operation, called Commercial Ventures, which now has 10 real estate professionals. She reports to managing director Steve Sokol. Formed a year ago, the merchant banking group has accumulated more than $1 billion of mortgages. Blakey spent five years at Goldman, where she was a vice president in the large-loan unit.
Sonnenblick-Goldman has hired realestate veteran Constantino Argimon as a principal and managing director. Argimon was previously Northeast regional manager and managing director for Debis Financial Services, a lending unit of DaimlerChrysler Capital Services, where he managed a $1.3 billion portfolio of commercial mortgages.
