Peer-to-peer recruitment is one of the most solid methods in building a reliable and effective network of advocates.
Grassroots advocacy is all the rage this year. Aside from an already exciting mid-term election season, just ask anyone who attended the IFA 50th Convention in San Antonio. For those who witnessed the Panel of the Pros session on Feb. 8, it was impossible not to feel energized and motivated to become more involved in connecting advocacy and franchising. Through its "pros" John "Jack" Earle (McDonald's franchisee and IFA first vice chairman), Jon Luther (Dunkin' Brands executive chairman and IFA second vice chairman), Michael Isakson (ServiceMaster Clean president and COO and 2007 IFA chairman), Ken Bartell (ServiceMaster Commercial Cleaning and IFA board of directors' member as first vice chairman of the IFA Franchisee Forum) and Jason Duffy (Dunkin'Brands franchisee) it's either get into politics or get out of business.
