Glenn Carnathan worries about the health of Saint Thomas Health Services employees.
Not their physical health, but the kind of condition that creeps into seemingly everyone's life at some time - the illness of letting personal finances negatively affect family, home and office.
Carnathan is the chief human resources officer for Saint Thomas Health Systems. He's spent the bulk of his 26-year career thinking about the way employees' emotional and financial health affect their jobs and the company that pays them.
Carnathan has developed "LifeWorks," an employee benefits program Saint Thomas is implementing to address conditionof-life factors that hamper an employee's personal and professional growth.
The work Carnathan has done on LifeWorks has garnered the attention of national consulting firms, the State of Tennessee Ascension Health, Saint Thomas' parent. Ascension now has Carnathan working on a broader program to roll out to its 100,000 or so employees.
