Tired of hauling around a notebook, but unimpressed by most personal digital assistants? NEC's MobilePro 750C is a tempting alternative. This Windows CE 2.0 handheld looks like a standard laptop sliced in half lengthwise, with a lovely 256-color touch screen and--at last!--a truly usable keyboard. It's larger than subnotebooks like Mitsubishi's $1500 Amity CN, but weighs less (under 2 pounds). And at $899 it's a lot cheaper.
