PARIS - Herms Parfums' business is soaring.
The March launch of its men's scent Terre d'Herms (Earth of Herms) catapulted the firm's fragrance sales almost 40 percent by the end of June, year-on-year.
"We are happy; it is beyond our expectations," said Veronique Gaultier, president of Herms Parfum and managing director of Herms' leather and bags division. "It's a product that's made to last. And the dynamism created by Terre has boosted all our scents."
For the first half of 2006, overall sales of Herms fragrances soared 34.1 percent at constant exchange, to 23.7 million euros, or $29.8...
