Sales of HDTVs and flat-panel displays continue to be anything but flat, in spite of still-high prices, confusion among consumers about differing technology and legislative issues surrounding HDTV.
"It's all about flat panel, that's all anybody is talking about," said Sean Wargo, director of industry analysis at the Consumer Electronics Association. "The bottom line is consumers are ... very interested in HD and flat panel."
