Courses report students among most likely to leave after the first year

Architecture students are among the most likely to drop out after only a single year of study, new figures from the National Audit Office have revealed.
Figures released by the NAO last week showed that more than one in 10 "architecture, building and planning" undergraduates did not progress to the second year in 2004-05, the most recent academic year for which data are available.
Compared with other subjects, students on architecture and related courses are the sixth least likely out of those in 20 course areas to return to university after the first year. This retention rate...
