The massive FuturePlex office complex, the futuristic, hightech structure launched last year in San Francisco, has lost its race against time.
"We've stopped construction at this point just because of the market," said project manager Dirk Hallemeier. "We were trying to hurry ahead to meet the market, but now we have slowed down."
The stop to the three-building, 760,000-square-foot office project is emblematic of the city's real estate and dot-com woes.
