Homewood Suites, a Hilton Hotels Corp. brand with 135 properties across the country, will enter the Wichita market this year with an $8.5 million, 105-room property in The Waterfront at 13th and Webb Road.
The extended-stay hotel concept will be franchised by lighthouse Properties of Salina, Kan., which plans to break ground on the property in August says Dawn Ray, manager of brand communications for Hilton Hotels in Memphis, Tenn. The hotel should be open by April 2005, Ray says.
David Boos, executive director of Lighthouse Properties, says his faith in the Hilton Hotels brands, coupled with his belief in the future of The Waterfront, led him to his newest project.
