HKEx Preps Orion Data Tests, Schedule

Abstract

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEx) is wrapping up internal testing of its Orion Market Data (OMD) Platform-based on NYSE Technologies' Exchange Data Publisher, and part of HKEx's broader Orion initiative to upgrade its technology -- and will open a testing environment for the platform at its new datacenter in December, ahead of the Phase 1 launch of Orion in the second quarter of 2013, which will initially cover distribution of the exchange's equities and index data before expanding to cover HKEx's derivatives data the following year. Testing on OMD equities and indexes will run from December to early March next year, followed by dress rehearsals in April and production rollout by the end of the second quarter of 2013.
