Holt AV/Video is one of those homegrown family businesses that continues to change with the times and remains successful.
Founded as Wilford Naylor Co. in 1950 as an educational, religious and entertainment film rental company, Holt AV/Video specializes in installations of high-tech, computerized audio visual equipment, transforming corporate board rooms, training rooms and presidents' offices into minimultimedia centers.
The average cost of installing an audiovisual room with projectors, a sound system, screens and other special effects is about $25,000, says co-owner Michael Holt.
Top execs dont balk at the pricetag, he says.
"It's amazing how many people want to make a good impression in the board or sales room," Holt says, adding that rooms can be customized. "You can spend $10,000 or $50,000, just like a home theater. You can have it as fancy and nice as you want it."
