Homebase will leverage the resources of sister retailer Argos to transform itself into a digital leader as it prepares to close around a quarter of its stores.
Homebase customers will be able to pick up click and collect orders from Argos stores as the DIY retailer aims to up its multichannel credentials.
There are also plans to further roll out Argos concessions in Homebase stores after a successful nine-store trial that drove footfall to the DIY retailer's shops.
John Walden, boss of Argos and Homebase owner Home Retail, said the DIY retailer has scaled up its digital ambition and he believes there is an opportunity for a retailer in the DIY sector "to step in and lead here".
