Idaho City is expected to have a hot springs resort again starting next summer, 11 years after the former Warm Springs Resort closed and a new owner embarked on redevelopment.
The project, to be called The Springs - A Hot Springs Resort in Idaho City, repeatedly failed to secure traditional bank financing despite being reduced in size several times, General Manager Wyatt Sharpley said. Many banks considered it a startup business, despite the predecessor's 60-year history, and questioned its viability in the small town in the mountains northeast of Boise, he said.
