As an AHIMA credential holder, you are required by the Standards for Recertification of the Commission on Certification for Health Informatics and Information Management (CCHIIM) to complete applicable recertification requirements to maintain your credential(s) every two years. If you are unsure of your cycle end date or current recertification status, log into your MyAHIMA account and visit your CEU Center to review cycle details for your certification(s). Recertification requirements include:
Payment of your recertification fee
Recording of your continuing education units (of which at least 80 percent must be earned within AHIMA's specified HIIM domains)
If applicable, completion of annual self-reviews.
For those with a recertification cycle that ended December 31, 2017, and currently hold an inactive credential status.
To avoid moving into a revoked credential status, all applicable recertification requirements and a late fee must be completed by June 30, 2018. Please note, an inactive credential may not be used. Employer verification during this time, produces a result of no credential on file, and the digital badge is discontinued.
