WITH THE Jornada 820, Hewlett-Packard has created a handheld computer that will not only elicit envious stares in the coffee shop, but it will also let you tackle some real work.
The Jornada is sleek and lavender, perhaps inspired by Sony's Vaio series. Although larger than a Palm Pilot, the Jornada is by no means cumbersome. With a footprint modestly smaller than a pad of notepaper, its 2.5-pound weight is quite manageable. The Jornada is so light, in fact, that I found myself grabbing it and carrying it about like a paperback book.
With the Jornada you get a real keyboard. If you find yourself writing absurdly terse e-mails because you can't stand typing on chickletsized keys, the Jornada may be the solution.
