Window covering manufacturer Hunter Douglas is relocating from Murray to Salt Lake City, more than tripling the size of its Utah fabrication facility.
The move will allow the company to put all of its window covering, shipping and distribution and management operations under one roof in a new 250,000 building. Currently the company operates out of a 78,309 square foot facility in Murray and leases another 31,000 square feet nearby. The new facility will be located in the Bonneville Center just west of the International Center at I-80 and 5600 West.
"We're considered one of the leaders out of the [company's] North American fabricators, in how we fabricate and the quality of our products. So we were asked by our corporate office to be the ones to build a new large plant," said Rick Mecham, controller at Hunter Douglas. "We've known that we needed more space.
