MCERF Receives $10,000 Contribution
ROCKVILLE, Md. - The Mechanical Contracting Education and Research Foundation (MCERF) received a contribution of $10,000 from Anvil International Inc., raising its total cash donations to $530,000. When Anvil's cash contributions are combined with its in-kind support ($650,000), the company's total contribution to MCERF is $1.18 million, making Anvil MCERF's largest contributor.
"Support of MCERF is absolutely a good dollar spent," said John Martin, Anvil's vice president. According to MCERF, its board of trustees is grateful to Anvil for its generous donation and for its continued support of the foundation's educational and research programs. Grainger Aids State Programs
LANSING, Mich. - The Grainger Foundation donated $100,000 to the state of Michigan's No Worker Left Behind (NWLB) initiative and Michigan Technical Education Centers (M-TEC) near Grainger facilities. The donation was made based upon the recommendation of the branch managers of the local Grainger branches near the education centers.
The gift will support training and education for NWLB students as they pursue careers in high-demand and emerging trade occupations, such as alternative energy maintenance and development, and more traditional fields like HVAC.
