ACCOR MIDDLE East, one of the region's leading hospitality groups, has reinforced its presence in the capital of the United Arab Emirates with two new hotels.The opening of its first clustered property, the Ibis Abu Dhabi Gate, and the Novotel Abu Dhabi Gate is the result of long lasting partnership in the MENA region between Dr Shaikh Ahmed bin Saif al Nahyan and the Accor Group, the group said.The new hotel is close to attractions such as Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Yas Island - home to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and Yas Links championship golf course.Abu Dhabi is an important market for us and Accor continues to build a strong base there, said Yann Caillere, Accor president and chief operating officer.The new 294-room Ibis Abu Dhabi Gate will bring in a fresh new option to the economy hotel segment and the 224-room Novotel Abu Dhabi Gate to the midscale brand market, he said.The group plans to continue its Abu Dhabi expansion with two new properties - the 279-room Adagio Abu Dhabi Al Bustan and the 361-room Novotel Abu Dhabi Al Bustan - later this year.It operates 18 hotels in the UAE, across its Ibis, Novotel, Mercure, Pullman and Sofitel brands.
