Although IBM no longer has a corporate dress code, it still has a reputation for building technically impressive but conservative PCs. The Aptiva 545 takes a step away from that stuffy tradition, but its price ($1,299 plus $249 for a 15-inch monitor) is too haughty for this red-hot market.
