ICI Metals Inc. plans to expand operations and to dabble in industrial site development at a 23-acre complex in Strongsville that the specialty metals distributor putchased from Balfour Beatty, a British construction and engineering company.
The site at 12609 Alameda Drive is better known as the equipment yard of National Engineering & Contracting Co., a bridge-building company that Londonbased Balfour Beatty bought in 2000.
Alameda Properties LLC, a limited liability corporation formed by ICI Metals president Dan Caine, last month paid $1.25 million for the property, which includes four buildings with a total of 61,000 square feet of warehouse, office and garage space. Cuyahoga County assigns a $1.8 million market value to the property.
