ITHACA--A Cornell University spin-off is winning more grants as it continues developing its technology.
Ithaca-based iFyber, LLC won its latest Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant from the United States Army Medical Research and Material Command in February. In the past two years, the company has gained more than $500,000 in SBIR funding, says Eric Eisenhut, iFyber president.
Juan Hinestroza, an assistant professor of fiber science at Cornell, and the KensaGroup co-founded iFyber in 2008. KensaGroup is a private-equity firm that has helped launch a number of Ithaca-area startups.
