Abstract

Navy spokeswoman Lt. Courtney Hillson said the cut -- the FY-13 budget calls for just two craft to enter the SLEP instead of four -- "is a single-year reduction in induction of LCAC into SLEP to clear a production backlog," which "was caused by delays in delivery of earlier craft receiving SLEP and contract award delays caused, in part, by a consolidation in the vendor base."
