Improved software controls probe stations

Nucleus 3.0 Probe Station Control Software is written to control the company's S300 line of 300-mm wafer probe stations as well as the Summit/Alessi 200-mm probe stations. The software enhances on-wafer probing applications for RF and DC/CV testing, failure analysis, design debugging, and general-purpose probing. The software supports automatic wafer alignment when used with the Nucleus VisionTM software. Its wafer Z-profiling capability measures and compensated for variable Z-axis contact height across a wafer. The software includes context-sensitive on-line help, an improved video window for saving and/or e-mailing images directly from the video window, an improved user interface, and support for new digital joystick controllers. In addition, many customer-driven features have been added such as setting the wafer map reference the in the video window, a software thermal jogger, and new remote commands for pattern recognition. Nucleus software ships on all new probe stations and is available as an upgrade for existing stations. Nucleus 3.0 is simple to use, even for novice test engineers.
