A new name in carbon fiber tripods could give classic brands a run for their money
If you haven't heard the name Induro associated with tripods before, you probably aren't alone. Induro is a relatively new brand name for a lineup of high-end tripods jointly developed by the MAC Group in the United States and Yilee Precision Machinery Co., Ltd. in China.
Though Induro may not be as common yet as marquee tripod brands such as Manfrotto or Gitzo, give it time. After testing out one of Induro's excellent carbon fiber tripods recently, I suspect word will travel fast about the quality of these products.
For my test, I looked at a carbon fiber tripod from Induro's Carbon 8X C-series, which are designed to be sturdy, lightweight and fast to set up and take down. Perfect, it would seem, for my test which involved using four different digital DLSRs to photograph flowers in a local garden just as the sun was setting.
I was comparing the digital SLRs to see how each would handle lowlight shooting at high ISOs in dim conditions. Because the window of opportunity for the appropriate lighting was...
