The top-level leadership of the newest industrial developer in town looks a lot like that of another developer that made its mark in the market during the 1990s.
Cousins/weeks, created to develop and own industrial properties, is a venture that brings together Cousins Properties Inc. and Weeks Properties, a firm controlled by Ray Weeks, former chairman and CEO of Atlanta-based Weeks Corp., an industrial developer that merged with what is now Duke Realty Corp. in 1999.
The venture also reunites Weeks with Forrest Robinson, who spent more than 20 years with Weeks Corp., including seven years as president and chief operating officer. As part of its commitment to the venture with Weeks, Cousins has named Robinson to head the new industrial division of the Atlanta-based real estate investment trust (REIT).
These moves are all about opportunities, according to Cousins Vice Chairman Dan DuPree.
