What began in 1999 as a small moonlighting venture between a technology guru and an audiophile has turned into a milliondollar business with more than 5,000 products sold worldwide.
"Our first product was the Richard Gray's Power Company. It's a product so powerful that we actually named it a power company," says RGPC co-owner Richard McCarthy of the power-correction device.
McCarthy says Richard Gray, a wellknown electronics technician, understood that home audio and video equipment plugged into regular outlets did not reach its full potential because of interference. As the current from the transformer on the street nukes its way to the equipment, it encounters noise and cross-talk from other appliances winch filter power.
"If we could all plug our equipment directly into the transformer on the street we would. Obviously that's impossible. But Richard Gray figured out a way to get us closer to that ideal" McCarthy says.
