INTEL IS DEVELOPING a Pentium processor module that will bring enhanced multimedia capabilities to Pentium notebook PCs by early next year.
The company will formally announce in the fourth quarter an MMX-enabled daughter card that will bring to laptops the same 3-D and graphics capabilities that users will soon have on the desktop with Intel's P55C chip set, according to a company representative.
MMX functionality will increase the PC's performance to let users run increasingly complex graphics, imaging, and audio applications as they become available.
