Cummins Engine Company, Inc. introduces a new 525-horsepower version of its N14 diesel engine. The Cummins 500E and 460E ratings will continue to be offered with the new Plus Engine features.
Delivering a maximum of 1,850 lb.-ft. of torque, the Cummins 525 is the highest horsepower on-highway diesel engine yet introduced by any North American diesel engine manufacturer.
The latest series of improvements represented by the N14 Plus are a sign of Cummins' overall effort to respond quickly to the business needs of its customers, according to Roberto Cordaro, group vice-president Marketing at Cummins' Columbus, Ind. world headquarters.
"The Cummins 525 engine builds on the success of our proven 500 design and takes engine performance to the next level. We designed the 525 for customers who want the best performance available without sacrificing reliability...an engine that will deliver low operating costs over the life of a truck," Cordaro says.
N14 Plus engines will be available beginning in September 1995, subject to OEM release schedules.
Improvements to the Cummins N14 product line don't stop with...
