Abstract

Judging from recent court opinions, Hungary is serious about protecting creators' copyrights. Copyright protection, according to the general rule, is granted for literary, scientific, and artistic creations. Hungarian law bifurcates authors' rights into personal rights and economic rights. Free use rules of Hungarian copyright law grant utilization of protected works free of charge without consent of the author.
