A Kingston entrepreneur is seeking investments to take his computer peripheral product to market.
Through a private stock offering, Joseph Bekanich, president of 3D Scan Inc., seeks to raise $600,000 from investors to underwrite initial manufacturing, marketing, and business development phases for his Lightshow 3D Object Scanning System.
Bekanich describes the system as "newly patented technology that 'adds-on' to inexpensive flatbed scanners for capturing high-definition, photo-realistic details of 3D objects, for 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional electronic publishing and real-time Internet business-to-business communication."
The "add-on" portion of the Lightshow system is a translucent enclosure that fits over a flatbed scanner. It uses mirrors, custom lighting and optics to scan objects. An accompanying computer software package called Pro-Image 3D generates 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional digital models from he scanned images.
