David Asimov, 47, eldest child and son of the late SF author Isaac Asimov, was arrested March 5th at his Santa Rosa, Calif., home. Police seized his library of computer images, magazines, photographs and thousands of videotapes which they claimed included child pornography.
When Asimov had some problems with his computer, he brought it to a service company, where technicians found it allegedly held images of child pornography. The company called the police, who obtained a search warrant. Confiscating the computer, they searched Asimov's home, arrsting him on suspicion of possession of child pornography. It's illegal to possess child pornography, and a felony to produce or distribute it.
Asimov was held in Sonoma County Jail and arraigned on March 9th. At a second hearing, Municipal Court...
