Rowling and 'Lexicon' author both upset about the decline of a formerly positive relationship.
"Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling and Warner Bros, (distributor of the top-grossing motionpicture franchise in history) have filed a lawsuit against RDR Books, publisher of "The Harry Potter Lexicon" (due out this month), for copyright infringement, and are attempting to prevent the book's release. The book is based on a popular "Harry Potter" fan site (www.HP-Lexicon.org) of the same name.
According to RDR Books (www.RDRBooks.com), "Lexicon" is "the most trusted reference source on earth about the wonderful world of 'Harry Potter.' ... The 'Harry Potter Lexicon' is the first reference work that covers all seven books ... and draws from more than 40 in-depth media interviews."
The "Harry Potter Lexicon" fan site was created by Steven Vander Ark, a 47-year-old school librarian (according to the site), who is also the author of "The Harry Potter Lexicon" book. The site, which reports drawing more than 25 million...
