SWEDISH TELECOMMUNICATIONS solution provider Ericsson has been appointed the main technology partner for Jalenas, Malaysia's first Open Access fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) high-speed broadband infrastructure.
Jalenas' first ever city network was launched by the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in Kuantan, Pahang earlier this month as its first phase roll-out. Under the partnerships with Jalenas' operator High Speed Broadband Technology Sdn Bhd, Ericsson will be responsible to supply, build, system integrate, commission and manage the open access network.
Open access is a business model where there is operational and structural separation between the owner of the network and the service providers offering the services to the consumers.
