Japan is the latest country to turn to Russia as an option for diversifying its energy supply.
A top Japanese government spokesman confirmed that his country's government was negotiating with Russia over the joint construction of a pipeline between the Angarsk oil field near Lake Baikal in eastern Siberia and Russia's port of Nakhodka on the Far East coast.
If the project goes through, Japan would supposedly undertake the financing through loans...
