Two popular eastside restaurants are getting westside counterparts - and both will be along the busy west 21st Street corridor.
Jason's Deli, now at Bradley Fair, will open a second location Feb. 28 in the 21st Street Plaza at the southwest corner of 21st and Ridge Road. The venture will be owned by franchisees Kirt Jeffries and Blair Lacoste.
Inside, the New York-style deli with a down-home twist will be virtually identical to its eastside sister.
It will, however, be a bit larger than the Bradley Fair location, with seating for about 200 and outdoor patio seating for another 20.
Jeffries and Lacoste said they had been looking for a westside location for the past two years - soon after opening the original Jason's.
The restaurant will share the busy corner with Red Bean's Bayou Grill (also in the 21 st Street Plaza), Back Yard Burgers, Piccadilly Grill, Roosevelt's American Eatery, and the soon- to-be-built Arby's and KFC.
But Jeffries insists there's room for more on the growing west side.
