SALT LAKE CITY -- In an effort to stock its portfolio with multiple growth concepts, JB's Restaurants Inc., operator and franchisor of the 110-unit JB's chain, is poised to unveil two potential development vehicles--a '50s-style diner and an upscale family restaurant.
The Galaxy Diner, a "period" concept with a 1950s motif, will open in Provo, Utah, while the Country Cottage Cafe, a higher-end restaurant than the company's core JB's unit, will debut in Phoenix. Both are slated for June openings and are three-day part operations.
According to Don McComas, president and chief executive or JB's Restaurants Inc., the Galaxy Diner and Country Cottage Cafe will augment the company's HomeTown Buffet franchises as alternative vehicles to the JB's family chain. Currently,...
