ORLANDO - Jardon and Howard Technologies Inc. is going commercial.
Although the 14-year-old diversified local company - known primarily for its simulation and training software work for the U.S. military - has had a commercial division for several years, it has never been emphasized until now.
"We're trying to take what we've learned on the government side and apply it commercially," says Jim Jardon, the 61-year-old president and chief executive officer of the Orlando-based firm. "Every company needs training whether they know it or not. We're trying to produce cost-effective training that meets a company's own set of circumstances, criteria and needs."
As part of this new emphasis on the commercial division, Jardon recently hired former marketing consultant Bob Gosselin to head up the effort as the company's director of sales.
"If we can help a company reduce training from eight weeks to two weeks by going electronic, that's a cost savings," says Gosselin, who once worked for Disney's marketing department in Orlando for nine years.
