JJ North's Idaho buffet eateries sold in $4.5 million deal over four states

The JJ North's buffet restaurants in Boise, Pocatello and Idaho Falls have been purchased by a subsidiary of CKE Restaurants, Inc. -- a major restaurant buyer in the Los Angeles area.

The late July purchase of the three Idaho restaurants was part of a reported $4.5 million package buyout of seven JJ North's restaurants in four states by Salt Lake City-based Star Buffet, Inc.

The acquisition of the seven JJ North's Grand Buffets is expected to be finished by the end of September and is subject to the completion of an initial public offering of 2.5 million shares of Star Buffet common stock, information released by Anaheim, Calif.-based CKE Restaurants indicated.
