Senior Manager, Compensation

We are currently seeking a senior manager, compensation, for our Foster City, Calif., headquarters. This position partners with business HR colleagues and managers supporting more than 1,000 employees in our Applied Biosystems business. This individual develops and implements policy, process, structure, guidelines and programs for base pay, incentives, sales compensation and equity programs; conducts compensation surveys and market analyses to determine compensation trends and recommendations; develops and implements communication and education strategies across the company and its programs; builds and maintains compensation infrastructure: job codes, job families, job family descriptions, guidelines for new hire, transfers and promotions; consults with HR and clients on day-to-day compensation decision-making, project implementation and compensation program development; and ensures compensation programs, practices and policies comply with local, state and federal laws. This candidate must have a BA/BS and graduate-level studies; CCP is a plus. Seven or more years of experience designing and implementing compensation programs in a complex, fast-paced environment with competing client needs is required. Must be an expert in area of base pay and variable compensation management, and have experience in equity programs. Sales compensation management and experience with global/international pay structures are a plus. The ability to work with all levels of the organization, including executives, sometimes leading projects and sometimes participating as a team member, is a must.
