As more households and businesses adopt broadband Internet access, webcasting video is becoming commonplace. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to shoot video with a great camera and directly stream it over the Web? Thanks to JVC's new GY-DV300 camera and its streaming options, many will soon.
Video Systems was the first magazine to get its hands on the new camcorder portion of the system, and by the time you read this, the streaming adapter hardware and software will be shipping. We look forward to covering that in a future issue. Under this configuration, the delay is a mere two seconds, according to the company. I'll be able to check on my studio or home no matter where I am.
It would be great for keeping in touch with the family. I can see 1,001 business possibilities - from online meetings to concerts and special-event webcasts.
But let's not get ahead of ourselves. At the core of the Streamcorder is the GY-DV300, a camera that captures gorgeous DV footage and is easy to operate under both a fully automatic and a completely adjustable...
