Tenet Healthcare Corp. has settled what it called the most significant of the myriad lawsuits lodged against the investor-owned hospital operator after the discovery of dozens of bodies in New Orleans' Memorial Medical Center in the weeks after Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Dallas-based Tenet, which sold Memorial to Ochsner Clinic Foundation in 2006, settled a class-action suit last week that involved hundreds of plaintiffs represented under six "bellwether" plaintiffs, said company spokesman Rick Black.
