A college education has never been more important. Today's growing technology and global economy demand new skills and a post-secondary education. As tuition and prices for books, room and board continue to rise, they often exceed the average Kentuckian's salary increases.
Nineteen states are tackling this challenge through a different approach: prepaid college tuition programs that guarantee the cost of tomorrow's college tuition at today's lower prices. Legislation recently has been passed to bring this program to Kentucky in fall 2001. KAPT offers a way to save for college by keeping costs "capped."
