LONGMONT - Key Bank is looking to expand its market share in Colorado with a new Longmont branch located just north of the Diagonal Highway and west of Hover Road.
Chris Ross, Key Bank's area retail manager, says the Longmont site fills the gap for the bank between the existing northern market in Fort Collins and Loveland and the metro Denver and Boulder offices. The Longmont office is the third Key branch to open in Boulder and Broomfield counties. There are 46 Key branches throughout Colorado.
Ross acknowledges that Key was late to get into the branch expansion race along the Front Range. Still through new branches and acquisitions, the Cleveland-based bank also is expanding south of Denver in Highlands Ranch and Castle Rock. Future plans include branches in Westminster, east Boulder County, Commerce City and Brighton.
Nationally, Key Bank has $84 billion in assets and offices in 14 states. Commercial and retail clients total more than 3.8 million.
In Boulder and Broomfield counties, Key Bank's deposits of $61.5 million make up a 1.19 percent market share, according to statistics compiled by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. as of june 30,2003.
