This season Sacramento Kings fans will pay on average 7.4 percent more for tickets, about 25 cents more for individual food items, and will wait longer for the chance to buy season tickets.
But they'll be able to listen to double the number of games on Spanish-language radio, and watch 10 games more on TV than they could last year.
And they'll see the Kings win the league championship. Coowner Joe Maloof said so last week in front of 600 people at the Earlybird Economic Forecast at the Sacramento Convention Center. This year's surprise, he said, would be Hedo Turkoglu. That's because the 6-foot-10 forward has grown taller, improved his game, and uses his height when playing the point-guard position, Maloof said.
We'll all see starting on Tuesday, when the Kings' regular season gets under way at home against Cleveland, The preseason began Oct 8.
A waiting list of 23,000: Tickets this year range from $10 to $125, not including Kings Row seats. That's an average increase of 7.4 percent which is less than last year's 11 percent or the previous year's 10. The league average increase this year is about 8 percent.
One in four seats costs $22.50 or less, said Kings spokeswoman Sonja Brown.
