Another large network outsourcing deal has gone down in this "no one can do it alone" era of rapidly changing technology.
Health care products giant FoxMeyer Health Corp. has given Hewlett-Packard Co. responsibility for network uptime on its nationwide client/server network, which it has been building since last year, also with HP's help. The three-year outsourcing deal is valued at about $750,000.
The proliferation of client/server architectures is the primary driver behind user demand for outsourcing services, according to a survey of more than 200 companies conducted last November by Dataquest Worldwide Services Group in Framingham, Mass.
