SYRACUSE - LeChase Construction Services, LLC, a Rochester-based construction management and general construction firm, on March 24 announced its acquisition of Northeast Construction Services, Inc. of Syracuse. The deal cements its foothold in Central New York.
LeChase has worked on several projects in the Syracuse region, but "we've been servicing it from afar, from a distance" says William Goodrich, president and CEO of LeChase Construction Services.
Goodrich notes it's always better to have an office in an area where construction crews are handling a job.
The firm served as the general contractor and construction manager for the Syracuse Center of Excellence in Environmental and Energy Systems (CoE) at the corner of Almond, and East Washington Streets in Syracuse.
LeChase wanted to grow its presence in the Syracuse area and figured acquiring a local firm would be the best way to enter the market permanently, Goodrich says.
The deal closed on Tuesday March 23. The firm isn't disclosing any financial terms of the transaction.
Northeast Construction operates in a 12,000-square-foot structure at 609 Erie Blvd. West in Syracuse.
The transaction is considered an asset purchase, says Goodrich, but he declined to elaborate, citing the assets as part of the terms of the transaction.
