LONGWOOD - The Legacy Club at Alaqua Lakes is under new ownership.
Taylor Woodrow Communities, which developed the semi-private golf club in Longwood, sold it last week to San Diego, Calif.-based Heritage Golf Group LLC for an undisclosed sum. According to Seminole County Property Appraiser records, the property had a taxable value last year of more than $4.7 million.
With the sale will come changes to both the club and course, says Ron Parris, general manager of the club. Namely, the club recently rolled out two new membership programs with the goal of turning into a private, members-only facility
"Our goal is to make it a private club when we reach 400 members," explains Parris. "We have about 250 members right now, so we need 150 more."
Opened in 1998, The Legacy Club is part of Alaqua Lakes, Taylor Woodrow's gated, luxury community...
